Connective Tissue Therapy

There are several methods for dealing with the connective tissue in the body. PhysioSupplies has different materials in its range for the methods: IASTM, Cupping and Flossing.

IASTM Technique

IASTM is an example of connective tissue therapy. IASTM stands for 'Instrumental Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization'. By using the IASTM technique, painful areas in the connective tissue can be identified and then treated. By massaging in the appropriate area using an IASTM tool, the patient will experience less pain after the treatment.

Cupping

Another type of connective tissue therapy is performing a deep-tissue massage. This can be done by means of massage cups made of silicone. FASCIQ® offers various types of cups which are easy to press in and move over the body, so that the connective tissue is massaged. The cups are available separately in different sizes and also as a set.

Floss Bands for Connective Tissue Therapy

Flossing is carried out for the treatment of the fascia, and the therapist uses floss bands for this purpose. The floss band is wrapped firmly around the relevant body part or joint. The wrapped body part or joint must then do exercises to produce movement. The floss band is taken off afterwards. This removes the pressure and allows the blood flow to return to the tissue. Flossing ultimately reduces pain and increases mobility.
