Measurement of the blood pressure
A blood pressure monitor measures the pressure of the blood. The blood pressure is the pressure that is exerted to the walls of the blood vessels. A too low or too high pressure of the blood is dangerous for the health. The pressure of the blood consists out of two values: the systolic pressure and the underpressure. The systolic pressure is the pressure at which the blood is pumped by the heart through the blood vessels. The under pressure is the pressure in the blood vessels when the heart relaxes and fills with blood again.
Blood pressure monitors for the upper arm and wrist
The pressure of the blood can be measured inter alia at the upper arm, at the wrist and in the finger. PhysioSupplies offers different blood pressure monitors for the upper arm and the wrist. The most often used manner to measure the blood pressure is to measure it at the upper arm. A cuff will be placed around the upper arm and the systolic pressure and underpressue can be measured. With a monitor for the wrists the pressure of the blood can be measured quickly. It has the size of a watch.
